MLIS Cross-training Experiences This past May was the Florida Library Association Conference, where I was fortunate to be able to show a poster presentation along with two colleagues and friends of mine, Ariana Santiago and Natasha White. The three of us have had various experiences in cross-training while working in an academic library, and thought that our experiences may be similar to those of other MLIS students and recent graduates. So another school year has started and once again I volunteered my time and energy to help a group of students at Eau Gallie High School hone their paper researching and writing skills. This year however, the teachers were kind enough to have the students fill out a survey at the end of the presentation asking for feedback on things they learned, things that surprised them, what confused them, and what they would like to know more about.
